Mälardalen University (MDU) has officially launched its participation in the new Erasmus+ SUCCESS project, following a successful international kick-off meeting held on April 8, 2025, in Medellín, Colombia. The project, which will run until 2028, formally commenced with all seven university partners gathering to set the stage for a three-year collaboration focused on building a network of high-tech smart rooms for education.
The initiative, "SUCCESS: Society and Business Centric Education Through Sustainable and Smart Co-production," now moves from planning to action. The April meeting in Medellín brought together representatives from MDU, the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Spain), Åbo Akademi University (Finland), the University of Antioquia (Colombia), the University of Cauca (Colombia), the Technological University of Panama, and the University of Panama to finalize the project's operational start.
"The energy at the kick-off in Medellín was incredibly positive. It marks the formal beginning of a vital collaboration," said a spokesperson for MDU's project team. "To be there with all our partners, launching a project that will leverage Mälardalen's expertise in smart environments, was a significant moment. We are ready to get to work."
With the project now officially underway, the consortium will focus on its primary goals: developing and connecting new smart rooms in Latin America, creating innovative lifelong learning programs, and enhancing the digital competencies of students and professionals.
The kick-off signifies the start of a new chapter in international educational partnership. Over the next three years, Mälardalen University will provide crucial expertise in co-production and smart learning environments, helping to build a sustainable and impactful educational network that bridges Europe and Latin America.
